Experience the natural beauty and rich history of Venetian Crete with our Melidoni Cave and Rethymno tour. This approximately 8 hours tour adventure takes us to two of the most popular destinations in the region, offering a perfect blend of nature, history and culture.

We begin our tour in the morning by picking you up from specific locations. After almost one hour and fifteen minutes, we arrive at the stunning Melidoni cave where we’ll have approximately 40 minutes to explore the magnificent cave and learn about its fascinating history as a place of worship and refuge during ancient times.

After 30 minutes from our departure, we arrive to Rethymno, a charming town with narrow streets and ancient Venetian architecture. Enjoy 4 hours of free time to explore the impressive Venetian Fortezza, wander through the charming alleys of the old town, and sample some of the delicious local cuisine. Additionally, you may go swimming at the beautiful palm beach, which is located close to the town’s center.

At the end of the tour, we will all meet at the bus to return to Heraklion. Depending on traffic and your drop-off  location, the trip will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The timing of the program will be approximate, depending on traffic and weather conditions as well as the unexpected overcrowding.

Not Included:

❌ Melidoni entrance fee (4€ per person) – Paid on the spot in cash

Discounts:

Children up to 3 years old free of charge and travelling on parents’ lap

Children 4 – 12 years old 50% discount

Cancellation policy:

For cancellation up to 2 days prior to arrival no cancellation fees

For cancellations 1 day prior to arrival 100% cancellation fees

Non-show 100% cancellation fees

Notes:

1. For bookings 2 days before departure please contact us in order to check availability!
2. Please provide fullname, telephone number (country code included), e-mail and accommodation details (hotel name & address) upon booking.
3. Please arrive on time to the given pick-up point. Unfortunately, there is no option to wait for latecomers. In case of delay, missed pick-up, missed departure time, no refunds.
4. The travel agency reserves the right to alter or cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions or insufficient passengers number or force majeure 12 hours prior to departure time with a notification to the traveler.
