Hidden Gems of Rethymno! From Chania

Ιn this  excursion you  will visit  the oldest monastery in Crete, the historic Arkadi Monastery, which  played a major role in the liberation  of  the island from the Turks. We continue to the village of Margarites, one of the largest pottery centers in Greece. There you  will have the opportunity to admire the handmade ceramics and learn the secrets  of  pottery and tradition. Don’t  forget to taste the local Cretan cuisine in the picturesque town of  Rethymnon, overlooking the beach of Adelianos Kampos.

Our excursion starts early in the morning (approx. at 08.00 am) from your hotel or meeting point.

You will drive east to the region of Rethymno whi our guide informs you about the history and story this Orthodox monastery. Upon arrival at the monastery, you will have free time (approximately one hour) to admire the church (main church – Catholic Church of the monastery), the historic dining hall, the cellar, the power barrel, the museum and the art gallery.

Visit the traditional pottery village called Margarites and see the handmade ceramics. (approx. 1 hour)

Continue to the town of Rethymno, where you will have free time (approx. 3 hours) to visit  the alleys, the old  town and the traditional taverns overlooking the beach of Rethymno.

Return to your hotel around at 18.00 pm.

1. For bookings 2 days before departure please contact us in order to check availability!
2. Please arrive on time to the given pick-up point. Unfortunately, there is no option to wait for latecomers. In case of delay, missed pick-up, missed departure time, no refunds.
3. Please provide fullname, telephone number (country code included), e-mail and accommodation details (hotel name & address) upon booking.
4. The travel agency reserves the right to alter or cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions or insufficient passengers number or force majeure 12 hours prior to departure time with a notification to the traveler.
