Archaeological Bus Tour to Akrotiri Excavations & Red Beach!

Starting the tour, we will first visit the Prophet Elias Monastery. What makes the monastery noteworthy, other than its history and importance, is the fact that it is built approximately 565 meters above sea level, making it the highest point of the whole island.

Megalochori village is our next stop. An extremely charming traditional settlement, almost abandoned after the big earthquake.

The tour continues to Akrotiri excavations, one of the most significant archaeological sites, that includes a vast structure, once habited by 200 families and preserved buried under the volcano’s lava.

Then you will have free time at the Red Beach to enjoy the colorful formations of the mountain and/or visit Akrotiri Bay for coffee or lunch with Greek traditional mezedes and ouzo (personal expenses).

Perivolos, with its black sandy beach comes next. There you will have enough time to enjoy swimming, explore the area and taste fresh cooked fishes at the local taverns.

Children up to 1 year old free of charge and travelling on parents’ lap.

Children 2 – 11 years old 50% discount.

Cancellation policy:

For cancellation up to 2 days prior to arrival no cancellation fees.

For cancellations 1 day prior to arrival 100% cancellation fees.

1. For bookings 2 days before departure please contact us in order to check availability!
2. Please arrive on time to the given pick-up point. Unfortunately, there is no option to wait for latecomers. In case of delay, missed pick-up, missed departure time, no refunds.
3. Please provide fullname, telephone number (country code included), e-mail and accommodation details (hotel name & address) upon booking.
4. The travel agency reserves the right to alter or cancel any tour due to adverse weather conditions or insufficient passengers number or force majeure 12 hours prior to departure time with a notification to the traveler.
