Full-Day Trip to Tinos Island from Mykonos!

95€

Every Tuesday and Friday from May 2nd till October 6th

Duration 10 hours – Starting time 12:15 pm / Ending time approximately 22:10 pm

The meeting is at 12:15 at the new port of Mykonos (Tourlos), where you will meet our correspondent and have a small briefing.

You will reach Tinos island by a short 30-minute ferry ride. At the port of Tinos, your guide and bus will be waiting for you. Visit the larger neighboring island of Mykonos full of beauty and art – experience this authentic Greek island! Tinos houses the most important church of Greece, the impressive “Evangellistria” which was built for the miraculous icon “Megalochari”. It is the aim of pilgrimage for Greek people from all over the world.

Also, Tinos was inhabited by the Venetians for about 500 years and therefore there are still plenty of beautiful pigeon houses originating from these times and also many Catholic villages. The island has many beautifully maintained traditional villages and many with marble sculpturing decorated houses, crafted by local Tinian marble artists.

Tinos is famous for its white and grey marble which is taken from the marble quarries in the north of the island and is also fitted in the Buckingham Palace in London and the Paris Louvre.

On our comfortable bus tour, we visit the church, see valleys of the pigeon houses, traditional villages (where you can enjoy lunch in a tavern with great views and local specialties) and the woman’s monastery of Kechrovouni with its picturesque views and wonderful architecture.

We also have stops in the Pyrgos which is the main town of marble where even the bus stop is of solid marble and we visit a marble artist in his workshop and the village of Volax, famous for its basket weaving tradition and the big granite rocks dominating the landscape.

Back in Tinos town, you have free time for shopping and to relax at the harbor front before we make our way back to Mykonos by ferry. Estimated return time 22:10 pm.

Please respect the dress code for the visit of the church and the monastery on Tinos!
