Join us in exploring the historical city of Heraklion, an open-air museum, where the history comes alive around every corner!

Heraklion, a city steeped in history and heritage, traces its origins back to the Minoan Era (3000 years ago), upon the very hill, where the Archaeological Museum is located today. Over the centuries, Heraklion has been conquered by many cultures and civilizations: the Roman Empire for five centuries, the Christian/Byzantine Empire for seven centuries, the Arabs for approximately 150 years, the Venetians for four and a half centuries, and the Ottomans for 250 years.

Today, Heraklion stands as a testament to resilience, with its countless monuments and historical landmarks standing proudly against the sands of time. Get ready to immerse yourself in this fascinating adventure, as we pedal through the history, exploring its iconic landmarks and unearth the fascinating stories behind them on our captivating e-bike eco-tour in Heraklion City!

We start at 10:00 AM from our office at 38 Aretousas Street.

Our first destination is Rocca a Mare, a Venetian Castle by the seaside, and the Venetian Harbor.Guided by our expert tour leader, we continue biking along the coastline, passing the Historical Museum and the Natural History Museum. We enter the old city through the Baloardo San Spirito on the west end of the walls. Following the Venetian walls with their bastions, upper bastions, lower squares, and military gates, we reach the Baloardo Martinengo to pay our respects to the beloved, famous Cretan writer, Nikos Kazantzakis.

Our journey continues through the narrow streets of the old city, passing the Armenian Church and the Lakkos area, finally reaching the heart of Citta di Candia at Lions Square. Here, we will indulge in a traditional Greek experience enjoying Raki and appetizers, concluding our 3,000-year journey into the past.

At 14:00 pm, we will bid farewell at our office on Aretousas Street.
